hand written, for the purvis family
i don't write many letters. i have a few, maybe 3, written mostly to myself, just so i won't forget. i do have another collection of letters, about a dozen. torn and wrapped in faded brown envelopes. i found them at my gram's house recently. they were written from my pop to my gram in 1937. he was living in miami, she was staying in pahokee; they were only boyfriend and girlfriend then.
sometimes i like to lay in bed after i wake up and just listen. the other morning as i lay listening, i heard my mama and daddy discussing the letters i had gotten from my gram. they wondered out loud what letters my children would read. i can't help but wonder the same.
I have a stack of "Love Letters" written by my husband's grandfather to his grandmother when they were boyfriend and girlfriend in the 1920's. The old papers are so interesting as well as his hand-writing. We love to read them out loud when ever family visits. I love the painting of the tree.
